Elon Musk may already be the wealthiest person on the planet. However, if a forecast made by one analyst comes true, he may become the world’s first trillionaire!
Musk might be the first individual to become a trillionaire not because of Tesla, the publicly traded firm he runs, but because of his private space endeavor, SpaceX. This man has been far ahead of the curve whether it’s about sending the human race outer space, designing autonomous cars, or expanding renewable energy. The world knows Elon Musk’s name like many of us Americans know Spectrum cable internet for our internet & cable services.
Currently, his net worth is 297 billion USD! According to the Economic Times, Musk makes $36 billion a day. This ambitious entrepreneur has led several noteworthy ventures and fortunately, all of them have been successful (despite some glitches and initial failure). His restless purist of technology, sustainable developments, and groundbreaking innovations have been an inspiration for all. Think you know this guy? I bet not! Here’s a list of noteworthy achievements by Musk from a young age up until now:
1: He Learnt Programming in 3 Days
Musk was into computers and technology from a young age. He is a self-taught programmer really. When he was 10 years old, he pledged to each himself Basic. The boy finished a 6-month course in just 3 days! At the age of 12, he was able to utilize his programming skills and created his own video game which he eventually sold for $500.
2: He Was into Cold Calling Successful Executives
When he was in college, Musk developed the habit of calling the executives he read about in magazines. He used to ask them to meet for lunch. This bold habit got him his first internship at the Bank of Nova Scotia. This experience had proven to be useful since he later launched his online finance business.
3: His First Company Was Zip2
This was Musk’s break into the internet industry. He co-founded Zip2 along with his brother Kimbal and a friend, Gregory Kouri. After dropping out from Stanford, Musk borrowed $28,000 from his father to start this new venture. This was the internet’s version of yellow pages (phone numbers and maps included). Zip2 was then sold to a bigger company for $307 million and Musk made $22 million from this transaction.
4: Then, PayPal was Born
Musk decided to invest $10 of his proceeds from Zip2 into a new venture called X.com. It was his first attempt at online banking. The company was merged with Confinity by Peter Thiel and the business was rebranded into PayPal in 2001. Musk served as the CEO of the company but was shortly fired while he was on his honeymoon. He continued to invest in PayPal until the company was sold to eBay from which Musk made $180 million.
5: The Era of SpaceX Began
This genius entrepreneur diverted his interest to space exploration even before PayPal’s sale was finalized. Musk had his heart and soul invested to make space travel accessible and big to manufacture his own space launch vehicles. And so, in 2002, SpaceX was born. The company managed to land a contract with NASA for handling cargo to the International Space Station.
6: He Launched the Musk Foundation
Musk and his brother established a private foundation in 2002 to fund four areas of study and advocacy: renewable energy, human space exploration, pediatric research, and science & engineering education. His organization, which has received about $300 million in donations to date, has concentrated on disaster relief, artificial intelligence, and sustainable ideas.
7: He Decided to Invest in Tesla
This business mogul dipped his toes in Tesla by investing $6.35 million. He didn’t really find Tesla but he has his influence.

Eventually, Musk became the face of Tesla by becoming the principal product architect as a result of his vision to manufacture electric cars and pave the path for a more sustainable future.
Musk, a strong supporter of renewable energy, was motivated to develop a product that would revolutionize the automobile business. Tesla’s first electric car, the Roadster, hit the market in 2008, successfully changing the world’s perspective of electric automobiles and establishing itself as one of the world’s top automakers. Tesla is currently working on another ground-breaking project: an electric car battery with a million-mile lifespan.
